Welcome to the Program for Australian Tree Health website

In the past few years capacity in Forest health at Murdoch University has grown considerably. We now have 4 senior scientists and 6 PhD students on forestry related projects and are collaborating with other researcher in Australia and world-wide. We also have strong links with the forestry industry and a number of our students are on industry funded projects.

Between the senior scientists we have expertise in all aspects of plantation health; plantation nutrition, identification of pests and diseases and the development and implementation of mycorrhizal technology. The team has extensive experience in the diagnosis and remediation of forest health issues in Australia and Asia.

Our focus is concentrated on two main research areas. New and emerging diseases that threaten Australia’s plantation industry and the movement of diseases between native forests and plantation in Australia. This is a very active research group publishing results in international peer reviewed journals
